Yield
The
income and/or appreciation of an investment
expressed in terms of the purchase price of
that investment. For example, if a property
that has sold for $100,000 is worth $4,000
more one year later and has generated an income
of $10,000 during the year, the yield to the
investor is ($4,000 + $10,000) ÷ $100,000
= .14 or 14% yield.
